Act VI, Scene 7

This week's show was EXTREMELY chaotic and fun!!  First of all, Iwas joined by Angela Rawna, one of stars of Zach's "God of Carnage."  She saved my life because Stuart was caught in traffic and she graciously hung in there with me and we chatted away!!

We were also joined by Alex Garza.  His annual holiday show is "Abuelita's Christmas Carol" and, unfortunately, you'll have to wait til next year to see it.. it closed Wednesday night.

I know we say it a lot!!  BUT THIS WEEK'S SHOW WAS FUN!!!

We spent some time talking about some major mishaps in broadway shows!  Oy, what fun (and tragic).

Stuart was here for the first half and will be re-joining the show starting next week.. which means we have to say good-bye.... i mean, ta-ta... to Nicole (BIG KISS).

Our guests were The Georgetown Palace theatre's production of "A Christmas Carol, The Musical."

And finally we had a conversation with Joe Sears of "A Tuna Christmas" now at the Paramount.

Act VI, Scene 1

This week was the first show of our sixth season -- Mazol Tov!!!

We spoke with Norman Blumensaadt, Jennifer Underwood and Sarah Seaton of Different Stages.. they regaled us with tales of their show "Well" which opens on Friday.

We also had a special report on Broadway Across America's production of "South Pacific."  Lisa and Nicole went to the show on Tuesday and filed a report as well as interviewing some of the cast.

Act V, Scene 26 -- End of Act V

Well this was the end of our fifth season and on Wednesday we start season six (which we will call Act VI)....

On this weeks show we had the Pollyanna Theatre Company on to talk about the important work they are doing in the schools.  They are in the middle of their Fund Drive so please consider clicking here and giving them money!!!  (it makes the world go 'round).

We also had cast members from City Theatre's production of The Miracle Worker (Lisa learned that Helen Keller was a southern girl).

And finally Stuart and Lisa talked to Barb Jungr who will be featured at Austin Cabaret Theatre's next shin dig.. on Thursday and Friday.

And, finally, I chatted by phone with the founder of "Improvised Shakespeare," Blaine Swen.  They are performing at the Long Center.

Ann Ciccolella, Helen Marino and Ray Schultz of Austin Shakespeare's production of Hamlet (or, as we call it: "The Danish Play").  Hamlet opens Thursday at The Long Center

Tom Booker, Carla Goodman, Nathalie Holmes, Adriane Shown Deveney who are part of The Institution Theater's Teen Angst Tuesday at The Highball.  


Finally, Nicole and I spoke to Rain creator, Mark Lewis and there is a fun audience interview piece that Stuart and I did during opening night on Tuesday at the Long Center.  And here is a little video that we posted to Facebook.

On this episode we had Mandy Hunt, Andrew Cannata, Leslie Hethcox and Susan Finnigan on from Zilker Theatre Productions, "Footloose"  they sang two numbers live in the studio and well worth listening to.  Stuart and I are going to see the show on Sunday... why don't all of you come too?

We were also blessed with Rudy Ramerez, Xander Slay-Tamkin, Cassidy Timms and Lylith Newcomer from Vortex Theatre's Summer Youth Theatre.  They open "The Physicists" tomorrow night.. I think it is gonna be GREAT!

On today's show, we say good by to our apprentice Greg Ciotti.. he has graduated and will move on to bigger and better things!

We had an extra half hour today thanks to Sherry Mill and "Ready for My Closeup Miss Mills" and we filled it.

We had some of the Actor's from Young Shakespeare's production of "Troilus and Cressida

And Norman Blumensaadt brought the leads from Different Stage's "Too Many Husbands."  What a fun show!

This was our first show of our fifth season (Act V).  Unfortunately, I (Lisa) was unable to be there due to the death of my mother on Monday.  Actually, as Stuart was giving a beautiful tribute to my Mom during the show, we were laying her to rest that... That seems Apropos to me.  So, we dedicate this show to you, Joan Scheps Fridkin.

after 2 years of doing this program, for the first time, i told ALL of my guests they were on first.  My thanks to the cast of Steel Magnolias for being so patient
