Act III, Scene 60

Today on the program we had representatives from Different Stages Production of Agatha Christie's "Spider's Web" -- Co-Director, Jeannette Bellemur and three of the actors: Nikki Zook, and Craig Kanne and Bobbie Oliver. They performed a marvelous scene from the show. It opens this weekend and plays through July 24th at The Vortex

We also had Zach Theatre's Marketing and Program Manager Jim Reynolds and cast member (and super Diva... just kiddin'), Jill Blackwood talking about Zach's production of the award winning musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. Jill sang a number from the show and blew... our... socks off!! (I'm glad i wasn't really wearing socks). The Drowsy Chaperone is playing now through August 29th at Zach Theatre.

Boy oh boy.. we have fun on our show. I know i say it every week, but once again.. a spendiferous show!! Witty reparte, lot's of laughs, and wonderful guests

First up were folks from Re:Pysche playing at the Blue Theatre now through July 18th. Who was there? I'll tell you... we had two cast members, Rudy Ramirez and Verity Branco; we had the director, Marie Brown; we had the producer and co-creator, Tom Truss; and we were also joined by the Stage Manager (my old job), Michael Mussey (who did an awsome job playing the track and not being able to hear!!) They did a scene from the show that was Hill-Air-Re-Us!!!

Next up we had two young women who are in the cast of The Merry Wives of Windsor being produced Austin Shakespeare's Young Shakespeare Program at Richard Garriott's Curtain Theatre. Solveij Praxis and Ciara Flynn performed a scene which prompted me to ask for their ID... I mean, no way are these actresses teenagers! Also in the Studio was Production Liason, Nicole Shiro.

Act III, Scene 57

What a wacky crazy show we had. First of all Stuart got stuck in traffic and i had to tap dance all by myself... (somehow I managed).

Our first guest was laura Freeman who has a wonderful character called Luna Tart... a gaudy and wonderful cabaret singer! Laura came on and talked about the show she did a few years ago called "Luna Tart Died" and we think she should do it again in Austin! Well, she did a couple of numbers in the studio.. well worth a listen

On the second half of the show we featured the Austin Clasical Guitar Society. They are hosting an internantional compiteting at the Long Center called Austin Goes Classical which has a very very impressive line up from June 22 thru June 27th! Part of their all star lineup includes the Biscuit Brothers who we were fortunate enough to have with us in the studio performing. As an added treat, Dr. Mathew Hensley, the Executive Director of the Austin Clasical Guitar Society, wow'd us with some clasical guitar... what a great show!!
