Show #49 My Education, Michelle Cheney, City of Angels

We had a fun-filled hour long show today. Thanks to John Erler of "The Pilot Show" who generously donated his time to our 'lil show!

We had three guests on and it was jam packed. Our first guests were Brian Purington and James Alexander, two members of the musical group, My Education who created a score to FW Murnau’s Silent film “Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans”. The film will be shown on April 25th at the Alamo Drafthouse Downtown at 7pm along with a nine piece orchestra.

2nd up on the show was award winning actress, Michelle Cheney (no relation) who is reprising her sold out, "Excuse Me While I Change" at the City Theatre from April 22 to April 25. Michelle performed two songs live in Studio "L" along with her musical director, Kevin Oliver.

And Finally, Michael McKelvey (our old friend... and by old i mean 'long time'.. not old!! geeze!) who has directed "City of Angels" at the Mary Moody Northen Theatre at St. Edwards University. It will be playing through this weekend and tickets are available... Please call (512)448-8484 for tickets

Show #48 -- The Fantasticks and Austin Cabaret Theare

We had a double bill on the show today. Firstly, we featured the Way Off Broadway Community Player's production of "The Fantasticks" which is playing now through Sundy in Leander. In Studio was the director, Barbara Schuler; the Musical Director, David Blackburn and some of the cast: Derek Smootz (El Gallo), Eve Alonzo (The Girl), Matt Boehm (the Boy), Rebecca Stokinger (Bellemy) and Kirk Kelso (Huckleby). They performed a couple of numbers from the show and we had a great time.

Speaking of great times! Our own Stuart Moulton (who also happens to be the Artistic Director of Austin Cabaret Theatre) performed on air to promote his show on April 15th and 16th at the Long Center!

Another great one.. thank you Stuart.

AND A BIG THANK YOU TO ROBERT SIMS, our intern who will have his own show, "Lights Camera, Austin" (can you figure out what it is about??) next season!!!
